Holiday Wreath

Holiday is coming soon, and I am not ready at all :( Just say....in the last couple of weeks I became completely unproductive for my etsy shop. I rarely make new bags - how sad is that?? And just last week, I realize that we are only about 1.5 months away from Christmas day, and I haven't do any single thing for that big day, not even painting my wall which I normally do it every single year :(

So last weekend, I went to BHG's website, try to get some idea for what kind of Christmas craft I could make, but I want to make sure if I could any recycleable things that I have at home, try to safe a buck or two. then I found the idea of making the wreath using wine corks.

We got plenty of corks at home, and luckily until now I haven't get a chance to take them to the recycle place, so I could get a good use of them.

On the weekend, I already bought a sterofoam wreath and some artifical flowers and a velvet bow. To make it actually is pretty easy as long as you have lots of corks and lots of refill for your glue gun, cause this projects really need lot of GLUE. Glue corks on the sterofoam wreath in the pattern you like, or you can even do it without pattern a.k.a abstract. Squeeze bunches of artificial flowers in between the opening of the corks. At last, glue the bow either in the center top or bottom, 4 o'clock position or 11 o'clock position could be great too.

After 13 years...

In the last 13 years, I just focused myself to the life I have, my education, job, family. Kind of forgotten those old friends with whom I spend my school years in my hometown, Palembang. Thanks to Friendster and Facebook, lately, I found them back one by one. It's kind of funny that all of sudden I got connected again with my teen-life. It brought me back to the time when I was a little rebel, it made me think...'HOW CRAZY I WAS?' LOL..Why I was crazy, cause I loved to debate with my teachers whenever I found that they slipped with their words. Be honest, I didn't feel sorry for what I did, I know it's not so polite based on Asian culture to debate with elder people, but I was born with a liberal thought all over me, I just couldn't stand when they use the excuse ,'...because you are only a kid, so you can't....' or 'beacuse you are a girl, then don't expected to be able to do what a boy could'...I couldn't stand of those, not even now. I believe I have the right to speak out my mind , in a good manner, when I found myself on the opposite site of the matter.

Back to the story, so this is about the reunion I had with my long time friend , Joeska. She is currently living and working at ETH, Zurich - one of elite university in Switzerland. In the last 1 year, we tried to meet but never done it until last week. We visited the Zurich Zoo (there where we're met), had coffee, then dinner together. It's was a delightful afternoon-evening. My children loved her, so did she. I remembered that I joked on her when he hold my children hands when they're walking together , I said 'Joes, careful if someone seeing you with my children, they might things that you had 2 children already ' LOL....

After we dropped my hubby and children in the hotel, we went out to have a walk until we reach one of the top hill in Zurich center, not far from the hotel. We had a small talked up there, while seeing the beauty of Zurich at night. It's actually not more than review what we had together before at school...but it's so heart-warming. We both agreed, after 13 years, never even once we tought that we might be able to see each other again since we both lost 'total' contact, plus...who ever even think we might meet in Switzerland...this country never been on our list as a place where we want to go either for education or to live. Anyway, here we are, in Switzerland, and last week, we finally met again after 13 years.....who said 13 always be a bad number, it's one of our lucky number

My Then and Now...on Judit's blog....

My "THEN AND NOW" is been posted on Judit's blog (Judit is also member of ETSY European Street Team)...but to be honest...I just feel bad bad bad about myself. All of the EST people are senior artists...not like me, an green artist wannabe.. whatever... the most important thing...I've been on the blog, together with all the senior artists...yippie yay...........THE POWER OF PYONG........

It's been forever....

I believe I did not update this blog since last Friday (May 9)...... I AM SORRY!!! I felt bad myself too...I was trying to squeeze sometimes out to update it, but it just too much work............

We had a long weekend, mother's day celebration plus another public holiday, and at the same time, I would love to have a face lift in my shop by putting more things in it and do some promotional things. I wish I could have more than 24 hours each day....by the time the holiday I just be able to advance a bit more...not as much as what I expected before....

PYONG IS VERY TIRED NOW....but life still have to rolls on. Wait for my good new stories...SOON!!!

Pyong's first featured artist : Lorissa Longfellow

A while ago, I joined FAM and found one of the fellow FAMer is a great photographer - Lorissa Longfellow. She took many beautiful pictures of landscape on the west part of America, and Julien even gave his 2 thumbs up for her pictures ( FYI, Julien was a professional photographer before).

I like photography, even though I am null on it. For me it's a great media to share our vision with others. Photography is not always has to be something easy to be understood, it will be more interesting if someone has to look at it for sometimes before he or she could really understand what the picture is all about. That's why all the museum of arts always provide spaces for people to stay and take a long look of those art works ;)

Today, I am lucky enough to be able to featured her (and one of her beautiful picture) on my blog. I asked Lorissa to share with me a bit of her story behind this picture, her answer is:

The photo was taken from an overlook on the South Rim Drive in the evening.  The White House overlook and trail, to the White House Ruins,  are generally the most photographed, but I loved the swirling sandstone.  The whole monument is beautiful and a special place because it is still home to the Navajos.
This was the last stop on our wedding road trip.  My hubby and I spent two weeks camping and spending the night in an occasional hotel when we eloped.  The actual wedding took place in a haunted hotel in Gold Hill, NV (near Virginal City).  I used my Minolta x-700 and Fuji Slide film to capture the image.

This picture was taken at Canyon de Chelly National Monument Arizona but for more beautiful of Lorissa's picture, you can visit her website, her flickr, her blog, and since she is also one of ETSY's artist, of couse, she also her shop there.

This is the first time I featured someone on my blog, I hope I wrote it good enough. But there is another happy news I want to share with you. Before I wrote this post, I just won Lorissa's ETSY Shop secret, a beautiful ROUTE 66 Card. I bet Julien will be happy if I told him about it tomorrow.....

Clairette de Die for PYONG

Yippie....even almost 1 week late....but we did open a bottle of champagne for Pyong lol It's should be today the grand opening of my shop, but suddenly my mom gave me the Feng Shui date to open my shop which was 30 April....had no time to prepare the opening party with girls in the office....I waited until today. Julien was so generous, he offered me a bottle of CLAIRETTE DE DIE.....yay!!! ok.....let's raise our cup for PYONG BRICOLE...........................

Visit to WOODLANE....

                         Today, we visited Woodlane - the place where Julien bought Pataud from. It has been a while that I asked Julien to take Pataud to visit his parents...for me, if we could miss ours why he couldn't. This morning we found out that one of Woodland's dog - Dana, died. Julien thought it was the mother of Pataud, then after we checked his pedigree certificate it stated that his mother is Beverly, which still alive until now. So we called them and decided to take Pataud today to visit place where he was born, before its too late.

We arrived at Woodlane at about 3 PM, today is a sunny day...a great day to stay outdoor. When we arrived there are 4 goldens playing on the garden - Kiss, Bonnie (if I got it right, this is the sister of Pataud), Nike and Nino (the last two are the children of Bonnie). Pataud kind of playing with those dogs but once a while he made sure that we will not leave him alone there LOL....ok...the moment we waited, Pataud's mother been taken out to meet his long time no-see son....Once Beverly been taken out, Pataud kind of approached her in a slow movement,stopped a bit around her (about 2 times) and went away, so did Beverly (she was totally tired...she's getting older). They could not took his father out to meet him, cause he is a bit aggresive with a male dog.

To be honest, the only person who really having a good time at Woodland is Regina (since Pataud worried, then I assumed he was not 100% enjoy his stay there). Nino played with Regina all the time, she was like a doing the dog-sitting for me, took him for a short walk around the garden, made sure Nino will shared the toy with Nike, bla bla...while Sebastien....he got worried because he never been (in his life) surrounded by so many big dogs lol....

Just before we leaved, they took Pataud's father (Apollon ??) to the other side of the house, secured by a 2-meter gate. He was a bit nervous, but was not bad at all. He licked me on my hand, showed he actually like me, or because he can smelled his son's smell on my hand??? Well...for me, I already kept my promise to Pataud and to myself - to take Pataud to see his parents.

I would like to thanks Woodlane for giving me this special chance to let me make my wish and promise to our beloved dog - Pataud came true....THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

PYONG IS WICKED TIRED TODAY!!!

Even though today is a national holiday, means Julien did not go to work, it did not help a lot....I am still exhausted to occupied my children. Those two hyperactive babies really need to do a very tiring activities, otherwise they will never rest quietly. I was anxious to fill my shop with another bag, but yesterday and today are not really the day to take picture - I already have one of my bag done, but it's too cloudy to take picture. Today, I really want to finish up with my new model, but with those 2 babies plus a dog ran and made noise everywhere....it's almost impossible for me to work on it.

Finally late afternoon, the bag is done...but I already promised my family that we will go swimming, so we packed our things and go to Saillon for the thermal bain (warm water pool). Half way to Saillon, the sun came out.....SXXT!!! Wish it came out earlier, at least today my Etsy shop will not be 33% empty. Whatever... we arrived at Saillon around 6 PM, then we swam until almost 8 PM. Swimming could be great if you only have Regina with you, but with Sebastien, it turned to be nightmare...not during the swimming, but during the time to get out of the water...he screamed so loud.....he just did not want to get out from the water...GOSH!! What a boy!

On the way home, we stopped by at Mc Donald (what can be more convenience)...picked up some junk and ate it at home....around 9 PM...put both babies on bed...I finally has a little peace time for me to continue to make another bag (I found an excellent and gorgeous velvet in my sewing room this afternoon)... fixing up my blogs and future website...and here I am.......finally...ready to go to my dreaming time...G'night everyone....Thanks for checking my BLOG!!!

First item sold in my store...somebody bought my sakura flow purse...yippie yay!!! First day, first item sold....PYONG IS SO HAPPY TODAY!!!! Now, hope for more good luck....

Japanese Cooking (the arts)

Pyong loves to eat.....so do I. My very favorite cuisine is Italian's, what else can be better. But, I never forget where I came from, of course I also love asian cooking with once condition....no spicy and oily foods. That's why I love Japanese cooking.....light, delicious, fresh and CUTE. Talking about cute food, today, my friend forwarded me an email full with pictures of cute foods, and now....I also want to share it with all of you... BON APPETIT!!!!!!!

Royal Family. Sushi decorated in a Japanese traditional yellowish (should be goldish) wears...in this case, the omelette is used to give the goldish tones. Smart idea!!!

As I remember, the story should be about 3 little pigs fighting against an evil wolf. But in this case, one of the pig got sun burn so badly that's why it's turned to be brown pig.I like the way they decorated the omelette with the nori, it gave a tone seems like it's a bi-color kimono lol

I call it Inari on the beach lol....look at how they use those inari pocket to be the beach long chair...it's cool, creative, the most important thing...it looks super duper delicious...................
