Certainly not one of my favorite day

Today is certainly not of my favorite day. After a faboulus weekend, today, we have snow falls since the early morning until now (almost night). With a bad weather around, nothing seems right, not only the sky is gloomy, so does my mood - I haven't even touch my sewing machine the whole day. The only things that bring me a bit is the accidental virtual meeting with a fellow crafter who lives in Neuchatel, and the best of all...it's also my fellow country-woman.

I make this blog, join many crafts forum, hope to find more new crafter friends, at least will have somebody to share the idea, passions...and my new bag lol. I am kind of stranger in Crans-Montana. People here does not really in to the 'artisanat' work, unless if I am a famous artist...or if my brand name already can be put at the same level as Hermes and the gang lol

During the weekend, I already struggled with my vintage purse making technique, tonight (if I am in the mood) perhaps I will go with the tapestry bag....

Finally.....the touch of spring arrives!

Finally, the big sun comes out to shine on us today. After such a pain and long winter, I can not wait to take off my jacket and replaces all my winter shoes with those summer ballerinas

I really can not wait until all those snow on garden melts away then I can start to prepare it for the coming summer. But do not worry, before the real summer comes, we will have to endure a couple more of bad weather in the coming days.

Happy Birthday, Julien!!

                          Today, 25th March, is Julien's birthday....in the afternoon we had lunch with his father Au Gréni, his father restaurant owned by family good friend - Hendriksen Family. Foods are great - Emincé Zurichoise with Rösti for me, Julien and his father had Fillet de Péche with french fries and Grilled Sausage with french fries for the children, but the wine chosed by his father is a bit too strong then I refused to empty my glass (I finished my mineral water instead). For the dessert, everybody basically having scoops of ice cream for them except me, Créme Brulée. It is one of the best I ever had.

In the afternoon, a small apero with some friends, I ordered a vacherin birthday cake for him from Christian Brigué. Vacherin cake is kind of ice cream cake, but instead of ice cream, it used sorbet. It wrapped by a generous amount of creams and cover by meringuée. This vacherin is actually using a mix of 2 kind of sorbet - Apricot and vanilla. it's not only great but the most important is...it's guilt free (sorbet is less fat than normal ice cream) lol

Marbré Chocolat-Vanille

Today afternoon, we invited some friends to have a 'BIRTHDAY APERO' for Julien. Since the morning, I just had a feeling, I need to do something....there will be more people than I expected. Check my kitchen in the morning, I found about 500 grams of butter and 10 eggs. Grab one of my favorite dessert recipe book - DESSERTS AU CHOCOLAT, I found the recipe of Marbré Chocolat-Vanille, easy to make and I do not need to run to the grocery stores for any other ingredients. The recipe made 12 Marbré Chocolat-Vanille cupcakes (I made it in the form of cupcakes than log since I think it will be served more for the children than adult). The great part is the chocolate mixture that been put on the top of the white mixture, it looks more like chocolate meringuée than cake mixture.

Airplane Document Bag

Tomorrow is my husband birthday, he will be 46. He loves airplanes, like me, he also loves bags. Therefore, I made a bag lined with the felt for him to bring his small gadget with him to and from the office. Inside, I made a small pocket to put his USB sticks etc, and with also an elastic band to keep his portable hard-disk steady. In front, I put an initial 'J' for Julien and 3 little airplanes. This bag is made to carry A4-sized documents.

Bunnies Day

Monday after the Easter day, here we called it lundi de Pâques, is the day when we start to finish up easter chocolate we received or bought days before. Voila, here are some of the easter chocolate I had at home, the one with the swiss soccer team's uniform is belong to Sebastien, the one is for Regina. I like the yellow vintage bag, wish if it is not a marzipan bag lol

Happy Easter....

It's a cold brezzy easter here in the Crans-Montana. We had to cancel our eggs hunting game since there is no way I could hide those eggs under the snow, instead, I spoiled my children with 'MILKA's EGG'. We had this bad weather since the beginning of the weekend, to be exact, since last Friday, and according to the weather forecast this nightmare will continue to the week ahead. Anyway, for those who celebrate Easter, I wish you all HAPPY EASTER, otherwise, have a great Sunday.
